Jay is currently drafting a novella nicknamed “Project Bard” at this point in time. In this queer, fantastical retelling of a classic Shakespeare play, one of the greatest villains in literature is still the villain. Set in a magical alternative of 1570s Venice and Cyrpus, the main character is grappling with unrequited romantic feelings for his general, a scheme that will end in triumph or death, and a hunger for power that lingers just below the surface. He uses the best tool at his disposal: deceit. For if he can’t have you, he’ll ruin you.
